Help us shape the future of Canmore Pride.

We want to hear from our 2SLGBTQIA+ community members (and allies) including you. Sign up to participate below.

Your participations helps us create programming that is inclusive and community-led.

Canmore Pride Society is currently engaging in community consultations through a mix of one-on-one meetings, group discussions, and an online survey. This combination helps us ensure that there are multiple ways that people can participate (as everyone communicates differently).

The purpose of the Community Consultations is to gather input from 2SLGBTQIA+ community members (and allies) to help shape Canmore Pride Society’s future direction, strategic priorities, and programming.

Our goals for our Community Consultations include:

  • Ensure consultation participation is representative of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in the Bow Valley, including those from equity-deserving groups.

  • Identify what is working well and what gaps may exist with current programming and determine the future needs of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

  • Creating themed data to be used to inform the creation of Canmore Pride’s strategic plan.

  • Gain knowledge to inform governance and operational changes within the organization.

Here’s how you can participate:

  • Join a group session

How have you engaged with Canmore Pride? What programs would you like to see? How can we remove barriers to participation?

This will be a casual, group conversation, facilitated by a Canmore Pride team member and is open to 2SLGBTQIA+ folks only. Each session will be 2 hours long (90 minutes for conversation + 30 minutes for eating/mingling).

Food will be provided as a small thank you for your participation.

There are two dates to choose from:

Sat, Oct 25, 10 AM - 12 PM, Canmore Public Library

Second Date - to be determined.

  • Complete our online survey.

We estimate that this survey will take 5+ minutes to complete, depending on how much detail you would like to provide in your answers.

The survey is open to 2SLGBTQIA+ people and allies.

As part of your participation in the survey, you will be entered to win a $100 gift card.

  • Book a one-on-one conversation.

We’re looking to have in-depth one-on-one conversations with individuals who represent equity-deserving groups. This is part of our effort to ensure that all voices are heard in this process—including those who might not usually be centred in pride spaces.

Equity deserving groups include (but are not limited to): people with a disability, neurodivergent folks, newcomers to Canada, English language learners, Two-Spirit/Indigenous people, BIPOC, etc.

We’re also looking to speak with 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, parents/caregivers of 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, and 2SLGBTQIA+ parents/caregivers.

Individuals will receive a $50 gift card for their participation in a one-on-one conversation. We estimate these will take ~60-75 minutes.
