Your participations helps us create programming that is inclusive and community-led.

Canmore Pride Society is currently engaging in community consultations through a mix of one-on-one meetings, group discussions, and an online survey. This combination helps us ensure that there are multiple ways that people can participate (as everyone communicates differently).

The purpose of the Community Consultations is to gather input from 2SLGBTQIA+ community members (and allies) to help shape Canmore Pride Society’s future direction, strategic priorities, and programming.

Our goals for our Community Consultations include:

  • Ensure consultation participation is representative of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in the Bow Valley, including those from equity-deserving groups.

  • Identify what is working well and what gaps may exist with current programming and determine the future needs of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

  • Creating themed data to be used to inform the creation of Canmore Pride’s strategic plan.

  • Gain knowledge to inform governance and operational changes within the organization.

Here’s how you can participate:

  • Join a focus group

    How have you engaged with Canmore Pride? What programs would you like to see? How can we remove barriers to participation?

    This will be a casual, group conversation, facilitated by a Canmore Pride team member and is open to 2SLGBTQIA+ people and allies. Each session will be 2 hours long with a maximum group size of 20.

    Individuals can choose to receive a $20 gift card for their participation, or donate the $20 back to Canmore Pride.

    UPDATE: Our focus groups happened in November 2025. However, if you are still interested in sharing your feedback to Canmore Pride directly, please email community@canmorepride.ca. Alternatively, you can also fill out our online survey.

    We estimate that this survey will take 5+ minutes to complete, depending on how much detail you would like to provide in your answers.

    The survey is open to 2SLGBTQIA+ people and allies.

    As part of your participation in the survey, you will be entered to win a $100 gift card.
