About the film:

ASOG is a screwball tragicomedy starring a cast of real life Super Typhoon survivors.The film follows Jaya on a road trip to a drag pageant and along the way they encounter Filipinos enduring the impacts of climate change. Flipping the conventions of the road movie on its head, Asog is a stunning and profound ode to the power of solidarity amidst struggle.

  • The panel discussion will be in English. 

  • There is a gender-neutral washroom available 

  • The venue is wheelchair accessible including a wheelchair accessible washroom.

  • The theatre can fit up to 105 people in the audience.

  • There will be loud noise. Please bring your own ear plugs if needed.

  • There will be bright lights - you’re welcome to bring sunglasses and hats to wear.

  • The closest bus stop is Canmore 9th Street (Roam Transit) and is 200 metres from the venue.


Getting here:

There is a paid parking lot in front of artsPlace including limited accessible parking spots. We also encourage you to walk/bike/bus/roll to the venue if possible.

Parking is $5 per hour from 8 AM to 8 PM.


Food/Drinks: Snacks (popcorn, chocolate bars, candy, etc.) and drinks (sodas, beer, wine, etc.) will be available for purchase from the artsPlace concession stand inside of the venue. Cash and card payment will be accepted.


Tickets: This event is open to the public. We prioritize creating a safe space and any discrimination will not be tolerated. This is a space for learning and growing our understanding of each other. Everyone is welcome from all backgrounds and cultures.

  • Tickets are $12. Due to limited spots, we recommend purchasing tickets ahead of time. If any tickets remain, you will be able to purchase tickets at the door.

  • Those who are part of the Canmore Affordability Program are eligible for a 25%-50% discount, depending on their tier level.

  • Ticket sales will support Canmore Pride Society and artsPlace.
